Policewoman on duty crashed to death by a speeding vehicle

Another report from the Ghana Police Service indicates that a policewoman identified as Comfort Freby has been crashed to death by a speeding vehicle while on duty at her post at the Gomoa Potsin police checkpoint in the Central region of Ghana.

According to reports by adomonline.com, the checkpoint was however constructed just a week ago based on series of robbery cases recorded on the Kasoa-Apam Highway.

At about 3:00 am on Wednesday February 2, 2022, the report indicated that a Toyota Fish passenger car with the registration number GS 4746-20 was on a very top speed traveling from Accra to Cape Coast ignoring an atempt by the police at an earlier checkpoint to stop where he suddenly crashed the policewoman to death.

Other police officials at the scene at that moment however managed to escape the death.

Meanwhile, the driver has since been in police custody assisting with investigations while the Inspector General of Police, COP George Akuffo Dampare, is expected to visit the decesed family personally to commiserate with them.

The late Comfort Freby is said to have gotten married less than a year ago.
