Fire has swept through the Tamale Aboabo market on Saturday and has destroyed properties worth millions of cedis.
Goods including cereal, yam, shea nuts, farm produce among others were also destroyed.
According to some eye witnesses, the fire started from one of the market stores around 5am Saturday January, 30. The National Fire Service were prompted and took them many hours to fight the fire.
Preliminary investigations by the Fire Service indicated that the fire started as a result of some electric fault from one of the stores in the market and actually crossed over to the other stores destroying properties.
The victims have appealed to benevolent individuals, organizations and government to come to their aid because according to them, they have lost huge sums of money they invested.
