NIA suspends registration exercise at Kpeshie

The National Identification Authority (NIA) have suspended the works of one of its registration Centres at Kpeshie Zonal after an alleged machine used for the ongoing registration and issuance of cards got stolen in Accra.

According to Starrfm news, the authority has however posted a notice at the centre indicating that the exercise has been suspended until further notice.

Meanwhile, the National Communication Authority(NIA) in a statement, has revealed that, in order to ease congestion at our various registration Centres, plans have however been made to deploy more registration point across the country. They added by letting the public know how they understand the frustration and inconvenience of some customers in their bid to complete the second stage of the SIM Card registration process.

“As a result, the NCA has been working assiduously with Manos and the SIM Card registration application developer to improve the registration process and mitigate the current challenges”, they assured.

“The authority has catalogued some measures to improve the exercise which include, the deployment of additional registration points commensurate with the subscriber numbers of each MNO to ease the congestion. “In this regard, outlets such as distributor’s shops, retail centres and other agent touch points across the country are being used for the SIM registration exercise”, they added
