The Black Stars of Ghana today lost their opening game against the Atlas Lions of Morocco at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroun.
Morocco’s Sofiane Boufal scored the winning goal in the 83rd minute to secure their three points in Group C.
The Black Star started the game well but were less threatening in front of goal.
The North African giants dominated the second half and were the better side resulting in the winner by Sofiane Boufal who was adjudged the Man of the Match.
This loss will come as a big blow to the Ghana team which is yet to clinch the Afcon trophy after four decades.
Ghana will face Gabon in the next match on Friday and it should be a must win for the Black Stars if they want to progress to the next stage of the competition.
