Parliament to Vote on E-levy Today.

Parliament will later today, Monday, December 20, 2021 in order to consider the mobilization of revenue measures that is key to the 2022 budget operation.
The most instrumental measures is the introduction of the 1.75% Electronic Transfer Levy that is also known as E-Levy.
On Friday, December 17, 2021, Parliament passed the Appropriation Bill after budget estimates for various agencies, Department and Ministries were approved.
Both parties thus the majority and minority are divided over the levy and its implication for financial inclusion.
According to the minority MPs, they will ensure that the Bill is not approved since it is considered as against the interest of the people.
Meanwhile, the majority has maintained their stands that the levy will help the government to generate the needed revenue to meet the developmental demands of the people.
