Some residents of Denkyira Akwaboso in the Upper Denkyira West municipality of the Central Region of Ghana, have engaged in a bloody shoot out with some suspected armed robbers last Friday dawn, September 3rd 2021.
According to the deputy Central Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Inspector Evans Isaac Ettie, the robbers attempted to rob some residents of the vicinity but ended them in a battle with the remaining residents which left five of the armed robbers dead with one identified as Attah, a known armed robber within the community and on the Diaso Police wanted list.
On an arrival at the scenes, the police found some varying degrees of gunshots wounds on all of them after an inspection was done on their bodies with two locally manufactured guns and fourteen empty cartridges at the scene.
Meanwhile, they also discovered from the residents that two of the suspects which is a male and a female escaped during the process. The bodies of the deceased are however conveyed to the Sefwi-Bibiani government hospital mortuary for preservation, identification and autopsy whiles investigations are underway into the matter and for the other two to be arrested.
