Nkawkaw Police have arrested a Chinese man popularly known as Afey at Kwahu Aperadang for allegedly shooting an 8-year-old boy.
According to a report by UTV, he was cleaning up his gun when the weapon mistakenly went off hitting the victim (Kwaku Mireku) in the process.
In an interview with the boy’s mother with UTV, she said, she heard the gunshot from afar and was however called to the scene only to see her son lying in a pool of blood.
“I rushed to see my son lying in a pool of blood. He informed me that he was struck by the bullet whiles on his way to get water from the room. But the white man insisted he was rather going to our room. I picked him up and rushed him to the hospital”, the mother told UTV.
Meanwhile, The Divisional Police Commander for Nkawkaw, ACP Kofi Adu, advised the angry residents in the area who even planned of burning down the suspect’s house to calm down whiles they put things in order.
The victim, is however receiving treatment at the Holy Family Hospital whiles the suspect is in police custody undergoing investigations.
