Residents of Sissala West Appeal for a Footbridge.

Residents of Sissala West district in the Upper West region have appealled to government to help construct a footbridge that links the various communities to ease the movement of goods and people in the district.

According to the residents, the footbridge has broken down for the past four years and nothing has been done about it. They say they have tried their best to get it fix but to no avail due to financial difficulties.

Speaking to thenewgh.com, a resident who spoke on anonymity said the absence of the footbridge along the road has impacted negatively on the lives of the people in Sissala West.

“Food stuffs can’t be carried to market centres hence making farming less profitable”.

The people are therefore calling on the central government to intervene immediately to make life easy for them.
