Over 70 passengers were nearly burnt to ashes as state owned Metro Mass Transit Bus was conveying them to a prayer camp at Adadietem in the Ashanti region.
The bus which carried the worshipers of Pentecost Church Ghana from Suame was headed to a prayer camp at Adadietem in the Ejisu Municipality, where congregants usually converge to worship.
The driver upon reaching the KNUST Police Station at about 6:20 pm noticed smoke from underneath the bus.
Just as the passengers ran out of the bus, it caught fire which was quickly curtailed by the KNUST Fire Station.
The passengers who had ran for their lives had their belongings burnt.
Station Officer 2 at the KNUST Fire Station, Ohene Gyembibi, narrated the incident to Citi News and added that “their had to mobilised another vehicle and conveyed them to the Ejisu prayer camp.”
