The Guinness World Record declined my application for a Soap-A-Thon recording attempt, stating that our proposed plan did not meet the criteria for a measurable competition.
While recognition from the Guinness World Record is prestigious, my team and I believe our mission goes beyond accolades. We recognize the pressing challenges facing communities in Ghana, particularly regarding economic hardships. Instead of dwelling on the setback from Guinness, we decided to redirect our efforts toward making a tangible impact through a new initiative: Empower-thon-GH.

Follow My Facebook Page As the name suggests, Empower-thon-GH is a dedicated effort to address unemployment by teaching valuable soap-making skills. The project aims to produce over 50 varieties of soap using raw materials like fruits, milk, honey, vegetables, etc., known for their beneficial effects on the skin. Additionally, we plan to train 300 unemployed individuals, with a focus on empowering women, providing them with the skills needed to establish their own businesses in the thriving soap-making industry.
Recognizing the rapid growth of the Ghanaian soap industry, Empower-thon-GH seeks to offer people a platform to improve their lives and those of others around them. By unlocking their entrepreneurial potential and facilitating financial freedom, the initiative aims to contribute to the socioeconomic development of the community.
The project will span three days, from June 7th to 9th, 2024, with its first edition taking place in Greater Accra due to resource constraints. However, we hope to expand to other regions in the future. Through hands-on learning and expert guidance, participants will gain the knowledge and confidence to excel in the industry.
To ensure the initiative’s success, all applicants will undergo a rigorous interview process to select individuals genuinely committed to seizing the opportunity. Powered by Modara Jodore Cosmetics, Empower-thon-GH sets itself apart with its holistic approach to addressing unemployment, fostering a supportive ecosystem that promotes empowerment and self-reliance.
As the first of its kind, we seek support to make this initiative impactful not only this year but for years to come, contributing to the betterment of communities across Ghana.
