The Chief Executive Officer of the national petroleum Authority Dr Mustaphur hamid was on Thursday 16th march elected as the president of the African refiners and distributors Association (ARDA) at the annual conference in South Africa
ARDA for the past years has been the voice for all downstream petroleum operators and its stakeholders. With a membership strength of 74 organizations from 52 African counties, ARFA has shared a common interest on matters relating to refining, storage, distribution and regulation of petroleum products.
The association has it legal headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland and its operational headquarters in Abidjan, Cote D’ivore.
The general assembly on the 16th of February 2023 unanimously endorsed the nomination to make Dr Abdul Hamid the president for the 2023 – 2024 periods which is subject to renewal.
Executive Secretary Anibor Kragba said in submitting Dr Hamid‘s nomination said he has brought a lot of dynamism and change to the petroleum downstream in Ghana, the nominee‘s integrity and honesty in public life are qualities the ARDA needs in this time.
Dr Hamid in addressing the general assembly after being sworn in as president promised to work closely with the executive secretary to ensure the growth and development of ARDA
He also emphasized that he would use the platform to leverage the capacity of the members to ensure that the association continues to be the voice of the downstream petroleum operators and its stakeholders.
