The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) has denied the claims that it had approved 8 people to travel to the Beijing Winter Games which comes off this February.
Speculations were rife on Social Media on Ghana’s contingent to the games with some sources claiming that the a total of 8 people are making it to the games and these people are made up of one athlete and 7 officials.
MoYS has however in a press release denied such claims and said such speculations were “false and malicious”
The Ministry has stated in its release that only three people have been approved to make the trip and these are made up of the athlete, his coach and the leader of the delegation, Bobie Osei who happens to be the deputy sports minister.
The Ministry said all the expenses of the three people would be at the cost of the Ministry.
It has therefore called on the general public to disregard the said information
The Beijing Winter Games will kickstart from the 4th of February 2022 and end on 20th February.
