UTAG Strike Intensifies.

University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) strike enters week four as pressure is mounting on government to meet the demands of agitating teachers to avoid what many describe as a definition of shut down of public universities after 21 working days of non- teaching and other academic works.

The Education Minister Dr Yaw Asiedu Twum at a press conference yesterday reveled that consultations are underway between the government and the striking teachers to arrive at a positive conclusion.

The teachers have given the strongest indication of staying away from the classroom until their conditions of service are addressed.

The teachers further stated that until they get that firm assurance and concrete steps by government to redress their concerns, they are not returning to the classrooms.
