E-levy Will Reduce Dependency on Debt and Provide more Jobs-Akufo Addo.

The Ghana government has reiterated the need and the reasons for the introduction of the controversial electronic levy (E-levy).

On 27 January, 2022, the President tweeted that the introduction of the E-levy will reduce the country’s dependency on foreign aid.

“The E-levy will help the government with revenue to build more roads, provide more jobs and opportunities for the youth and reduce our dependence debt”.

The comments on his tweeter page is a way the government is educating and sensitizing the people on the need for the introduction of E-levy including nationwide town hall meeting currently underway in Koforidua this afternoon.

The meeting is being held by the Finance Minister, Ken. Ofori Atta, the Minister for Communication and Digitalization, Ursula Owusu Ekufful, Minister for Information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and the Majority leader Hon.Alexander Afenyo Markin.
