The Youth and Sports Ministry expressed disappointment by the abysmal performance and the early exit from the ongoing AFCON in Cameroon by the Black Stars following the humiliating 3-2 defeat to Comoros yesterday.
The Ministry therefore summoned the leadership of the Ghana Football Association for an emergency meeting on Friday, January 21,2022.
Per the statement from the Sports Ministry, the urgent meeting is mainly aimed at discussing and to make decisions to salvage the performance of the team.
The disappointing performance of the Black Stars after losing 3-2 to Comoros actually squashed all hopes for the team to secure a fifth African Cup of Nations trophy for the nation after fourty years without a trophy.
The stars bowed out of the competition winless and bruised with just a single point.
The Minister of Sports, Mustapha Ussif expressed unhappiness and disappointment about the Black Stars poor performance at the tournament.
The statement from the Sports Ministry highlighted that the team was logistically equipped and financially supported.
