Investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni, has lamented over Ghana’s current constitution describing it as “not worth celebrating”.
In a post on Facebook, the award winning journalist and anti corruption crusader based his assertion on the lack of parliamentary representation for the people of Santrofi, Akpafu, Likpe and Lolobi(SALL), and the lack of legal consequences thereof.
Background
In the 2020 general election, the Electoral Commission of Ghana, issued a press release announcing the exclusion of the people of SALL from voting in the parliamentary election for a representation in Ghana’s Eight Parliament.
Many have described the EC’s decision has unconstitutional and a dent on the democratic gains of Ghana since the inception of the 4th Republic.
