Asamoah Gyan to Miss 2021 AFCON.
Legendary Ghana forward Asamoah Gyan will miss the upcoming African Cup of Nations in Cameroon next year for the first time since CAN 2008.
His name was not included on the 30-man squad Coach Milovan Rajevac announced ahead of the competition which begins in January 2022.
Gyan is Ghana’s all time leading goal scorer and holds the record for the goals by a Black Stars player in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The former Sunderland star has scored eight solid goals at the tournament .He was a pillar for the team led by Coach Milo in 2010 that reach the final of AFCON. He also scored three goals enroute to the final against Egypt.
Gyan has not featured for the Black Stars since the Nations Cup in Egypt 2019 where Ghana reached the round of 16.
