Roads and Highways Ministry has given directives to discontinue collecting tolls on all public roads and bridges nationwide on November 17, 2021.
According to the statement signed by the sector Ministry, Hon. Kwesi Amoako Attah is to take effect from Thursday, November 18, 2021.
This follows the announcement made by the Finance Ministry on scrapping of tolls on all public roads.
“The Roads and Highways hereby directs the cessation of the collection of road and bridge tolls at all locations across the country”.
In order to provide security at the various toll booths, Police personnel from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) will be stationed at the toll booths.
The statement has urged motorists to obey the instructions of the security agents.
