Zico Ishaq Abubakar Newton has been recognized by the Change for Zongo Youth of Ghana for his positive contribution to the social change within Zongo.
Since 2015, Zico has consistently organized literacy initiatives for young people within Madina Zongo and its neighboring communities with the aim of aiding in the improvement of their literacy skills.
Due to this, most basic school children who previously performed poorly in class due to weak literacy skills are gradually improving and are more interested in staying in school.
The Citation, signed by the Youth Chief of Greater Accra Alhaji Chief Salisu Mauda, reads:
“In recognition of your special effort, dedication, and positive contribution to the cause of social change within Zongo, Ghana and beyond, we celebrate you as an avowed Zongo Change Maker worthy of emulation by all Zongo youth and we honor you for helping, as you continue to do, in lighting the torch of progress in the community.”
