The Glorious Word Power Ministries International has rendered an apology to journalists after its followers mounted an attack on them at the Accra Circuit Court on Monday following Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah’s threat to Nana Agradaa.
According to a statement dated by them on the 15th of September 2021, they apologized to all affected journalists and the GJA at large for the unusual incident that occured on Monday.
This comes after the the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) said that they are going to take legal actions against the attackers. According to them, despite the show case of their ID cards, bearing their names, and the media houses they worked with, they were still attacked and denied entry into the court room.
“The church would like to render an unqualified apology to all affected journalists, media houses, and the GJA.
“We plead with the affected media organisations and journalists to kindly accept our apology,” the statement read.
The church however assured affected media houses that such would not repeat itself.
“We acknowledge the key role the media plays in our society and as such we pledge our full cooperation and support in ensuring that this incident does not repeat,” the statement added.
