The government of Ghana, has yesterday, 2nd September, 2021, taken another delivery of some 244,800 doses of the single-shot Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccines.
This follows after the first procurement of some 177,600 doses arrived on Saturday, July 7, 2021 in Ghana due to the surge of the disease through the African Vaccine Acquisition Trust (AVAT).
The Johnson Johnson is however secured through it as well by the African Union with support from the World Bank. This therefore comes at a time the country is experiencing an increase in COVID-19 cases amid the government’s pledge to vaccinate 20 million adult population.
