The Sekondi Takoradi township in the Western Region of Ghana is said to receive it’s first interchange at the PTC/Kwame Nkrumah Roundabout.
The project, which is said to take 30 months to complete, has already begun and it will be a three-tier interchange with direct access to the central business district, a hitherto congestion prone area.
The purpose of the interchange is said to improve traffic flow in the Takoradi Metropolis and provide seamless connection to towns, cities and other parts of the Region.
On Monday, 16 August 2021, the Western Regional Minister, Mr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, visited the site and inspected the ongoing project. According to him, many other projects were ongoing in the region apart from the interchange.
“As we speak, the reconstruction of the multipurpose Takoradi Central Market, the GNPC Operational Headquarters, and many other road projects are ongoing in the region,” he said.
He however promised to work hard with the government and keep an eye on the projects to be done on time for the betterment of the people in the town.
